Handwriting & Highlighting (iOS)

Handwriting is a natural and beautiful way to take notes. Sign documents, annotate & highlight PDFs, check-off todos, write notes, draw diagrams, sketch pictures, and more.

On iPad

Handwriting

  1. Tap  to select the handwriting tool.
  2. Once this tool is selected, use a finger or a stylus to write or sketch anywhere on the screen.
  3. Select color and width by tapping  a second time.

Palm detection is automatic so that you can write naturally by resting your hand directly on the screen while writing, just like pen on paper (Requires iOS 8 or later).

If you prefer to use a manual palm rest to prevent stray marks, turn off automatic palm detection in Settings -> Handwriting. The palm rest icon  will appear and you can tap or drag it to use the palm rest.
