Sharing a Note
Invite as many people as you would like to collaborate on a note.
- While in a note, select
from the top-right toolbar.
- Tap
Share Settings.
- Invite others by email or “copy link” to share the note
The red dot will disappear after the first interaction with this feature.
When sharing a note, the owner can control:
- Who has access to the note
- Whether contributors can view or edit
- Whether anyone with the link can access the note
The note remains in the owner’s library, but contributors can access it through the shared link or invitation.
Changing Permissions
- When inviting contributors, select the option “can edit” or “can view” from the dropdown before selecting invite.
- Note access can be set to restricted or public by the note owner.
Collaborating in a Note
Contributors can join a note via a share link or an invitation. If editing is enabled, contributors can work in the note at the same time, and changes will appear automatically for everyone viewing the note.
When multiple contributors are viewing or editing a note, presence indicators show who is currently in the note.
The icon appears in the top toolbar. If no other contributors are in the note, only the icon is displayed. When others join, the icon updates to show the number of active contributors. Tap the icon to view all contributors or invite others to join.
Learn
Learn is only available to contributors with Plus or Pro access. Contributors without Learn access will not be able to use this feature, even if they are editing the same note.
View-Only Notes
Some shared notes may be view-only. View-only notes can not be modified, but the contents of the note can be selected and copied.
