Grandfathered Classic user updates
If you purchased Notability with the same Apple ID before we moved to subscriptions, you're a grandfathered Classic user. Your plan isn't going anywhere, and you don't need to pay again.
You've been upgraded to the current version of Classic for free, which now includes:

- Cross-platform syncing
- Handwriting Recognition and Math Conversion

Is Classic a subscription?
No. Classic is a one-time purchase. You pay once and own it, with no recurring charges.
Can I switch from a subscription plan to Classic?
Yes, you can purchase Classic separately from your subscription. Note that switching doesn't automatically cancel an existing subscription, so you'll want to cancel that plan on your own if you no longer need it.
What happens if I cancel my subscription and I own Classic?
Your subscription stays active until the end of the billing cycle you paid for. Once it ends, you'll be moved to Classic. If you subscribe again later, you'll keep Classic too.
Does Classic get future updates?
Yes. You'll get all stability improvements and bug fixes, along with many new features. Features built for the subscription plans aren't included.
Does Classic include Learn/any AI features?
No. Learn, and all AI features are only available on Plus and Pro plans.
I bought Notability a long time ago. How do I know if I'm a grandfathered Classic user? Grandfathered Classic users are those who purchased Notability using the same Apple ID prior to our switch to subscriptions. If that's you, your account was automatically upgraded to the current version of Classic. If you're not sure of your status, contact our support team and we can check your account.
Grandfathered Classic users can upgrade to Notability Cloud and get access to collaboration, cross-platform syncing, math conversion, and handwriting recognition.
How does the purchase work for Classic users?
Visit notability.com/pricing, scroll down to Individual Pricing, click the toggle on the right hand side that says One-time, and click Unlock to purchase your Classic plan.
Is Classic available for Notability for Business users?
At this time, Classic is only available for individual Notability users, and not business teams on a Business plan. To view our plans and pricing for business teams using Notability for Business, visit notability.com/pricing#business.
What is the refund policy if I want a refund after purchasing Classic?
To get a refund on your most recent Classic purchase, you must request a refund within 14 days after your purchase.
