Is Notability available on Android?
Yes. Notability for Android is available on the Google Play Store.
Do I need an existing Notability account to use it?
New users can sign up directly on the Android app, or can use an existing account.
Can I use the same account across Android, iOS, and web?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any device, and your notes stay in sync through Notability Cloud.
Features and compatibility
Can I write with a stylus or S Pen on Android?
Yes! You can write and draw with a stylus, including the S Pen, just like you would with a pen and paper. Some stylus-specific behaviors are still being refined.
Are all features available on Android?
Not yet. These features aren't available on Android at launch:
- Convert to Math (LaTeX handwriting conversion)
- Handwriting language setting
- Post-recording transcripts
- Live transcription (Pro)
- Content-matching dark mode
- Smart Notes (real-time, Pro)
- Comments (native)
- Version History panel
We're working to bring these to Android over time.
Will my notes look the same on Android as they do on iOS?
Mostly, but not identical. You may notice small differences, such as with page alignment, when moving between platforms. We are actively refining this.
Sync and storage
Will my existing notes show up on Android?
Yes. If your notes are stored in Notability Cloud, they'll sync to your Android device once you sign in.
Does Notability for Android work offline?
Yes. You can edit your notes offline, and they'll sync once you're back online.
Plans and pricing
Do I need a separate subscription for Android?
No. Your existing subscription works across all your devices, including Android.
Is Classic available on Android?
Classic is not available for purchase through Google Play yet, but a Classic subscription purchased through the App Store or notability.com carries over. Sign into the same Notability account on Android, and it should sync over automatically.
