If Notability can't connect to iCloud, these ideas may help.
1. Restart all devices.
Restarting all devices often addresses iCloud connectivity issues.
2. Turn Notability off and back on in iCloud Drive for all devices.
- Close Notability on all devices.
- iOS: Double tap the home button and swipe up on Notability.
- Mac: Hold command and press Q (⌘Q) while in Notability.
- iOS: Go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and toggle Notability off.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive Options and uncheck Notability.
- iOS: Go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and toggle Notability on.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive Options and check Notability.
- iOS: Go to Notability > Settings > iCloud and toggle iCloud on.
- Mac: Go to Notability > Preferences and toggle iCloud on.
3. Log out of and back into iCloud on all devices.
- Log out of your iCloud account on all devices.
- iOS: Go to Settings > iCloud and tap "Sign Out".
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud and click "Sign Out".
Note: If your iCloud account's password is used as your Mac's password, you may wish to skip this step. Otherwise, logging out of iCloud will require you to set a new password for your Mac and possibly other apps connected to iCloud.
- iOS: Go to Settings > iCloud and sign in.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud and sign in.
- iOS: Go to Notability > Settings > iCloud and toggle iCloud on.
- Mac: Go to Notability > Preferences and toggle iCloud on.
4. See if syncing is prohibited on your iOS device.
If your iOS device is managed by an organization, the organization may prevent the device from syncing files through iCloud. To check for such a restriction, go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management and look for a policiy that say "Documents in the cloud not allowed".
Using macOS 10.10+ without using iCloud Drive.
If you have macOS 10.10 or higher and your Apple ID uses the old iCloud, Notability's iCloud sync will not work. Notability can only sync your notes if you upgrade to iCloud Drive or use an earlier version of macOS.
