Auto-Backup gives you peace of mind by keeping a copy of your notes stored safely in a cloud service of your choice.
Turning on Auto-Backup
- Click "Notability > Preferences..." at the top of your Mac's screen.
- Click "Auto-Backup" in the window that appears.
- Click the circle for the cloud service you'd like to use: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Box.
If your devices are synced through iCloud, Auto-Backup can only be used on one synced device at a time.
Changing Auto-Backup's File Format
By default, your notes will be Backed up as PDFs. To use a different file format:
- Open Auto-Backup's preferences.
- Click the "Format" drop-down menu.
- Click the file format you'd like to use.
Note format includes everything in a note: audio, handwriting, typed text, sticky notes, images, web clips, figures! All content is fully editable when you import the note back into Notability.
Changing Auto-Backup's Destination Folder
By default, your notes are backed up to a folder named "Notability" in your cloud service. To back up notes to a different folder:
- Open Auto-Backup's preferences.
- Click "Change..." to the right of "Destination".
- Navigate to the folder you'd like to use.
- Click "Set Destination".
