Sharing Notes (iOS)

Sharing and accessing information is a central aspect to note-taking. Whether collaborating with colleagues and peers, or simply importing the newest draft for revising, Notability helps share notes in several formats and to a variety of destinations.

On iPad

To share a note from the note view

  1. Open a note.
  2. Tap .
  3. Select a destination.
    • To send a note to another app, tap "Share...".
  4. Select a file format.
  5. Tap Send.

To share a note from the Library

  1. Go to the Library, the screen that lists your notes.
  2. Tap .
  3. Select the notes you want to share by tapping them.
    • To select or deselect an entire subject of notes at once, tap the subject's name.
  4. Tap again.
  5. Select a destination.
    • To send a note to another app, tap "Share...".
  6. Select a file format.
  7. Tap Send.

On iPhone

To share a note

  1. Open the note.
  2. Tap in the top toolbar.
  3. Select from the menu.
  4. Select a destination.
    • To send a note to another app, tap "Share...".
  5. Select a file format.
  6. Tap Send.

Preventing Margins

Notability adds one-inch margins when printing notes or exporting them as PDFs. While those margins can't be adjusted currently, Notability doesn't add margins to a page if the page was imported into the app as part of a PDF. As a result, you can import and write on blank PDFs like this to avoid margins:
