Notability can't open Microsoft Office files directly, so it uses Google Drive to turn them into PDFs. If you prefer not to convert files through Google Drive, you can open a file in another app (like Keynote or Pages), export the file as a PDF, and open the PDF in Notability.
Importing Microsoft Office Files on iOS
- Open a Microsoft Office file in Keynote, Pages, or Numbers.
- Tap "…" in the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap "Export" or "Send a Copy".
- Tap "PDF".
- Tap "Copy to Notability" or "Import with Notability".
