You can create a password to lock subjects within Notability.
A subject's password will automatically sync between iOS and Mac even if you don't sync notes across devices.
Password-protecting individual notes and/or the entire app is unavailable at this time.
Lock a Subject (iPad & iPhone)
- From the note Library, tap "Edit".
- On iPhone: Tap
and then tap "Edit" in the top left corner.
- On iPhone: Tap

next to the Subject you want to edit.
- Toggle ON the "Lock Subject" option.
Lock a Subject (Mac)
- From the note Library, right-click on a Subject.
- If you are viewing a note and do not see your Subjects list, click
.
- If you are viewing a note and do not see your Subjects list, click
- Click "Edit" from the menu that appears.
- Toggle ON the "Lock Subject" option.
Face ID, Touch ID, and Passcode
Notability supports your device's Face ID, Touch ID, or Passcode.
To turn this feature on, go to "Notability Settings > Locked Subjects."
- If you need to reset your password, you can select "Reset Password" in this tab.
You can also enable Face ID, Touch ID, or Passcode to override your current password and gain access to a locked Subject.
