Scan documents with your camera on iOS to create PDFs in Notability. Text within scanned documents and photos is now searchable.
To use Document Scan on iPad:
1. While in a note, tap the + icon on the right side of the toolbar and select “Document Scan”. The camera will automatically pick up your document indicated by the blue box. Documents can also be scanned directly from your library. To do so, tap on the Import icon in the upper right corner and select “Document Scan”.
2. Tap the shutter button to take a picture and then adjust the corners to set the perimeter of the document. Documents can be scanned in color or black and white. Rotated flash can also be used if needed.
3. Tap “Keep Scan” on the bottom right corner to start scanning the next item.
4. When done scanning all documents, select “Save” on the bottom right corner of the screen to insert the documents to the end of your note as a PDF.
To use Document Scan on iPhone:

Images that take up 1/3 of the page or more will index and now be searchable.
For best results, we recommend documents be scanned against a dark background.
